There was absolutely no way I was passing up an opportunity to see Omar Apollo & Daniel Caesar perform in The Garden, so I dragged my dad to New York. The original plan was to spend the weekend and then leave the Wednesday after the concert, but I ended up having a midterm on the Monday so we had to go for one night instead.

Daniel Caesar & Omar Apollo @ Madison Square Garden

First, let me just say that Scotiabank Arena has nothing on MSG. The Garden was everything and more. I totally understand the hype.

Montell Fish was a pretty good opener. I could tell he was nervous but I guess that's understandable. I still plan on giving his discography a listen.

I'm pretty sure I stopped breathing when Omar Apollo walked onto the stage. Y'all won't believe this but he actually waved at me!!! I died. After tragically missing my favourite songs when he opened for SZA, this set was even better than what I was expecting because he sang songs off of his new EP. Also, the girls beside me were GAGGED that I knew En El Olvido word for word. Listen y'all, I don't play when it comes to Omar!

Daniel's set was MAGIC. Every single person in the arena knew every single word of every song. It was an electricity I've never experienced before. To make the night even more special, Daniel brought out Mustafah the Poet and HER to sing their features. But, you know who he didn't bring out? OMAR APOLLO. Those two are actually sick and twisted for not performing at least ONE of their collabs. Regardless, that concert was one of the best I've ever been to, and I'm so grateful I got to experience it with my dad.

We had to leave pretty early to make sure I was on time for my afternoon class because I promised my parents I wouldn't miss school for a concert. I even did one of my assignments about the concert.

LGA --> YYZ

Day Two

I'll always take any opportunity I can to go to NYC. I'm hoping I don't have to wait too long until I can return!
