In support of the SAG-AFTRA strike, I'll no longer discuss struck work on this blog until an agreement has been reached. I'll try to watch more content outside of that, so I'll have something to post on here.
I thought the new season was cute! It was definitely more grown-up, and I loved the change of scenery! The second volume of Heartstopper is my favourite so I'm glad the adaptation didn't disappoint. Were Nick and Charlie a little cringey? Yes. But they were gross in the book too so I tried not to let it bother me too much. The new characters were fine for the most part, but James could've lent some screen time to Sahar. Mr. Farouk was unhinged, but it worked. He and Mr. Ajayi were SO cute.
I liked the Tara and Darcy drama. It wasn't that serious in the book, but I'm glad Alice raised the stakes because they're my favourite couple in the show and they deserved the extra screen time.

11. Nick's Dad
A deadbeat, but at least he knows his place.
10. Ben
LOSER to the max. I've never seen a character more desperate in my life. His apology was awful but he did have me gagged a few times. Like he caught Nick's tea. Though Ben had to go, I'll miss Sebastian Croft on the show. He deserves an Emmy for his performance because I was 100% convinced this was who he was in real life.
9. James
No shade, but James irked me every time I saw him on the screen. He was BEYOND annoying. I know Alice said Alec wouldn't exist in the TV adaptation of Heartstopper, but I wish she added a character like him as Issac's foil.
8. Issac
Boring in the last season and annoying in this one. I know he was going through a sexual orientation crisis or whatever, but because his character wasn't that developed in season one, I didn't really care. However, the fits ate.
7. Imogen
Was an ally last season but now a member of the community. I love this arc for Imogen! I don't think Sahar likes her so I hope she doesn't pine after her next season. But, then again, Imogen seems like people who don't reciprocate her feelings so they'll probably end up together in some capacity. Also, she was HILARIOUS. Like she carried some scenes for real.
6. Elle
I'm so happy you made new friends, but girl be so for real. You KNOW Tao is obsessed with you so why are you making it so difficult for him? But congrats on getting into that school and finding a community! Just don't forget about your friends.
5. Tao
I don't really have much to say about Tao except that I'm so glad he was peer pressured into getting a haircut. I don't think he and Elle work that well together, so I'm interested to see if they're still together next season.
4. Nick
I love Nick, but Ben had a point. Though Nick wasn't as aggressive or mean spirited, he still made Charlie feel horrible about himself. I understand Nick's hesitations. I mean, his brother is horrible and his father isn't a part of his support system, so he doesn't really find safety in his family outside of his mom. But, he still should've waited to start something with Charlie until after he figured himself out. However, after, "So what if it was? You jealous?" he was pretty much redeemed in my book. Also if there's one thing Nick is gonna do, it's a dramatic Google search.

2. Darcy
Alice is a genius for giving Darcy a richer story line in the TV series. She's such a dynamic character and I feel like that wasn't tapped into enough in the books. I can't wait to see more about what made Darcy the way she is and get more insight into her relationship with her mom.

Now that's queenie. An amazing partner, friend and student IKDR. I hope we get more on her next season because we've only seen her in context of the friend group. I would also like to put in a request for a Tara and Darcy spinoff.
