Everything I saw on the big screen this month

Babylon (2022) - 4/5 🪩
I saw this with my friend Sayak, and we had such a good time. Though it went completely off the rails in the last hour (Tobey and the alligator???), I really enjoyed the movie. I was fascinated with how it explored the movie industry timeline, and I loved Nellie and Manny. They're endgame in my heart IDC.
The Fablemans (2022) - 5/5 🪩
I have only watched a few Spielberg films, and I didn't even realize most of them were Spielberg films until I googled his movies two seconds ago. The openness and vulnerability of The Fablemans roped me in, and the cinematography was gorgeous. I was absolutely obsessed with Gabriel LeBelle as Sammy Fabelman, and Michelle Williams had a brilliant performance as well. I definitely see myself rewatching this in the near(ish) future.
M3GAN (2022) - 3.5/5 🪩
After months of anticipation, I finally saw this with my roommates, and it did not disappoint! M3GAN may not be the best horror film, but it was camp! I knew from the trailer that M3GAN sang "Titanium," but I didn't know that wouldn't be the only time she would break out into song. We were on the floor each time. I read that a sequel is in development, so I'll drag my roommates to see it when it comes out.
When You Finish Saving the World (2022) - 3/5 🪩
I wanted to see this movie for two reasons:
It's an A24 film
I wanted to see Finn Wolfhard in something other than Stranger Things
The movie wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't great, either. I felt like I kept waiting for something to happen that did. I think the mediocrity had less to do with the acting and more to do with the writing, as most of the movie wasn't memorable.
