Ginny & Georgia
Was it worth the two-year wait?

It's been an eternity since Netflix released the first season of Ginny & Georgia. Although I enjoyed this season, I think it would've been much better if season two was put out on schedule.
After watching the first episode, I was scared that the corny-but-charming writing wasn't on par with last season. However, a few episodes in, I remembered why I loved the show so much. The writers nailed the Gen-Z dialect. Some scenes were cringier than others, but there were quite a few things that were said that I have definitely said myself.
Based on its (alleged) popularity, Netflix should give Ginny & Georgia another season, but with how Netflix has been moving recently, it could go either way. If they can squeeze out a third season, I hope the ending isn't too much of a cliffhanger because the chances of a fourth look bleak. Overall I give it 3.5/5 🪩.
Hot takes from an article I wrote about the first season of Ginny & Georgia:
Hunter was a terrible boyfriend
Joe deserves better
Everything Marcus said about Max is true
Georgia is an excellent villain
Ginny isn’t that terrible
The only thing that didn't hold up for me this season was that "Georgia is an excellent villain." I'm not sure what grade 11 me saw, but Georgia Miller is not a villain. Running from Zion's family was definitely a mistake, but Lynette was hellbent on taking custody of Ginny, so I can understand Georgia's fear of losing her daughter.
As for the three murders: the first one was an accident (Anthony Greene sucked anyways, so it is what it is). The second one wasn't an accident, but Kenny was a predator, so I don't really blame her for that either. And the third one was actually a favour to Cynthia, so really, it was charitable work.
The Highlights:
Ginny x Marcus
Literally the only couple with my full support
Marcus calling Ginny "Poo" was the funniest thing ever
I'm gonna need them to be endgame
Joe
Finally, some character development!
Loved how Blue Farm Cafe was one of the central locations
Joe deserves EVERYTHING, and I hope he realizes that Georgia really isn't the one for him
Bracia
Broadway queenie!
Loved the increase in her screen-time
The photo shoot at Zion's was so cute!
