The Secret History by Donna Tartt - 4.5/5 🪩
I know no one (including myself) thought I was actually going to finish this book, but for the first time in literally forever, The Secret History is no longer on my still-reading list. Contrary to what you may believe, I enjoyed my time with The Secret History. It only took me so long to finish because the books I had to read in between for class took up all the brain power I needed for it. That book was NOT an easy read for me. It was quite a humbling experience actually as I had to google about six words a page.
One thing about me is that I LOVE a good secret society in an academic setting, so of course I ate this plot up. The exposition was a little extensive and I could've done without the in-depth Greek class content, but otherwise, Donna Tartt ate DOWN. This was some of the most excellent storytelling I've ever experienced and every character was developed perfectly. I also appreciated the inclusion of the epilogue because I feel like a lot more books could use them.
