Past Lives (2023) - 3.5/5 🪩

This was a SUPER impulsive watch. I wanted to see Past Lives the week it came out, but my work schedule kept conflicting with the showtimes, so I had to wait. I was supposed to see a different movie the day I went to see this, but I got stood up and decided to see Past Lives to make myself feel better. I'm still deciding whether or not it actually made me feel better, but either way, it was a good movie. I loved the plot and the cinematography ATE. I also enjoyed watching a fresh cast that was just as (or even more) talented as a star-studded one. Not to mention it was Celine Song's directorial debut. I'm interested to see what she does with her next film, Materialists.

Coma (2022) - 3.5/5 🪩

I really need to stop going to movies when I'm exhausted because this was NOT the film to fade in and out from. I've been trying to improve my grasp on movies that aren't straight forward and I think I'm getting a little better. I got some of the metaphors (I definitely got the pandemic themes) and I think I understood most of the important plot aspects. I was confused during the second half, but that was probably because I fell asleep. It couldn't have been for more than five minutes, but that was more than enough to lose the plot completely. Regardless, I was invested in the Barbie soap opera.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) - 4.5/5 🪩

This movie was so excellent that I had to see it twice. I first watched it with my brother on preview day. I bought IMAX tickets, but the building emergency alarm went off during the middle of the movie so we had to see a later show that was just a regular screening. I also saw it in regular the second time (I didn't get to choose the tickets) and it was even better! If you haven't seen it yet, please go to the nearest theatre ASAP. I'm so, so, SO excited for the next movie, even though there's no way that it's coming out when it was supposed to.
