I think the Red Moon in Venus tour is my most impulsive ticket purchase to date. No shade to Kali, but I had only heard two or three of her songs before prepping for the concert. The only reason the concert was even on my radar was that a girl in my dance class said I should go for the plot (I miss you Alay).
I'm still unsure of how I feel about the concert. I really want to say that it was everything and more because Kali Uchis is such a star, but I can't say that it was. If anything, it was a little underwhelming. I can't really put my finger on why that was because it had nothing to do with the vocals or anything production-wise, but I just felt something was missing. Not to mention, some of my favourite songs weren't on the setlist. Kali Uchis is many things, but a friend of her fans she is not. It's not necessarily a bad thing that she has such gaping separation from her fans, but it did make the experience feel a little less intimate which may have been what was offputting for me.
Nevertheless, I still had a good time! I also got to say hi to my friend Matthew and one of his friends after the concert.

Raye was cute but some of the songs she performed from My 21st Century Blues didn't serve the way I needed them to. However, she was a great performer and "Escapism." ate.
