Earlier this month, I had one of the most eventful days ever and I got to spend it with one of my best friends. Here's a recap of everything that went down.
Pre Sonic Boom
The original plan was to:
Wake up at 8 am
Get ready for the day
Eat breakfast
Leave by 9 am
However, we had to push things back a bit. I had an assignment due that afternoon that I thought I could finish during an all-nighter, but I ended up falling asleep sometime around 4 am and had to finish it before we left. I ended up waking up at like 8:30 am when my roommate and Daniel Caesar stan Stella Facetimed me (according to her I was delirious but, I can't remember much until after we left). Right before leaving, we stocked up at the market downstairs because we knew we had a long day ahead of us.
OTW to Sonic Boom
Some man tried to talk to us while we were waiting for the streetcar, but it was much too early to deal with that.
It took about 30 mins to get there, and when we arrived there were already like ten people in front of us.

@ Sonic Boom
We got to Sonic Boom around 10:30 am and waited until around 1:30 for our turn to meet Daniel and get our records signed. I would like to point out that I had the genius idea to buy the NEVER ENOUGH vinyl right when the store opened before everyone else followed suit.
After what felt like an eternity, it was our turn to meet Daniel. The security guard inside was super nice and let us put our stuff down while we took photos. Stella gave Daniel a letter she wrote which was literally the cutest thing ever. She also creative directed her photos with him. Literally, only Stella Allen would tell a Grammy award-winning artist to make 'peace signs' LOL. I tried super hard to keep it together so, hopefully, I wasn't a complete disaster. He said my name was cool when he signed my record which made my entire life.
Sonic Boom also featured us on their main grid so we were really in our fame eras that day.
Post Sonic Boom
After the meet and greet, we headed to Dairy Queen a few blocks up the street to get celebratory ice cream. There was a poster that said if we downloaded the app, we would get discounted Blizzards, but the guy at the register said he didn't know what we were referring to so we ended up having to pay full price (🍅🍅🍅). Stella had to charge her phone outside the DQ, so we were freaking out over text about what had just happened.
After finishing our DQ, we got back on the streetcar to head over to History with hopes of still being able to secure a good spot.

@ History
We got to the venue around 3 pm and waited until 7 pm to get inside. I didn't document it, but we got Harvey's for dinner. In the restaurant, there were these girls that took FOREVER in the washroom, and Stella almost kicked the door down (I wish she did TBH).
When we got inside, we first went to my usual spot behind the railing, but Stella had the genius idea to try and finesse barricade, and miraculously we did. Stella and I then spent the next 40 minutes going back and forth about who was going to ask the camera guy to take our picture (Stella finally stepped up). We also made friends with the guy standing beside us (well at least we THINK we did. The girls he was with hated us and he didn't really say bye after the concert).

Even though all of this happened weeks ago, I'm STILL in shock from everything that took place. I'm scared to check the grade I got on that assignment, but even if I failed, I would do it all again if I had the chance. Stella, if you're reading this, thank you for the most wonderful day!! I wouldn't have wanted to spend it with anyone else <3

Daniel's performance was PHENOMENAL. That man can really sing y'all. Though I completely lost it during "Homiesexual" and "Pain Is Inevitable," the guy beside us went to a whole other dimension as soon as Daniel stepped on the stage.
Daniel brought out two special guests. The first was Mustafa the Poet who came out for "Toronto 2014", one of my faves off the album. Charlotte Day Wilson came out later and sang her verse on "Transform" which was also pretty cool. He sang some of his other older songs as well but, he didn't perform any of the ones I wanted which I felt like a personal attack. I GUESS I have to just buy a ticket to the actual tour even though we paid resale for this show. I just don't know if I can continue on much longer without hearing "Who Hurt You?" live.
