Guts by Olivia Rodrigo - 8.4
Miss Rodrigo is here to stay! Of course I already knew that, but now the rest of the world does too. There was a lot of pressure following the incredible success of Sour, but Olivia rose to the challenge. Not only was this an excellent sophomore album, but it has some of the best pop music I've heard in years. Even though I thought the Sour songs would last forever, but the only track left on my regular rotation is "Happier." However, the growth on Guts is apparent. There are several songs that have already went platinum on my devices.
I thought I had solidified a top three after the few listens, but after revisiting, I realized I didn't give some songs the recognition they deserved. Because this Guts was the only album I listened to in September, I'll give you my full album ranking.
12. making the bed
Definitely not a bad song, but just not as strong as the others. A song had to be last and unfortunately it was this one.
11. the grudge
It sounds pretty, but it doesn't serve anything new.
10. love is embarrassing
Could've easily been a deluxe Sour track.
9. pretty isn't pretty
I actually really like this song, but it would've been CRAZY to put it above the others.
8. lacy
I didn't get it at first, but now I do. Literary genius.
7. logical
I'll admit, i was LATE, but I'm here now and that's all that matters.
6. get him back
good 4 u's older, meaner sister.
5. bad idea right?
SOOO much fun! The visuals are also a serve.
4. ballad of a homeschooled girl
All american b*tch part 2 and I'm here for it!
3. vampire
One thing about Olivia, she's gonna put out a hit lead single.
2. all american b*tch
The epitome of olivia's brand. I love when she gets into her pop rock bag because it's just so good.
1. teenage dream
Olivia's best song to date and definitely a forever favourite of mine. An excellent conclusion to an excellent album.
Other things I listened to:
I Was Mature For My Age, But I Was Still A Child by grouptherapy.
Caturday by Tobi Lou & FARADA
"Super Bounce (feat. EARTHGANG)" by DUCKWRTH
"this is what falling in love feels like" by JVKE

Geffen
"Snooze (acoustic) [feat. Justin Bieber]" by SZA - 6.0
Justin was cute in the music video, but he could've stayed on mute for this one.
"Bongos" by Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion - 4.0
I didn't get it.
